Position Overview:
The Floating Teacher or “Floater” reports to the applicable Division Director and is an integral part of the classroom support team. They assist Group, Associate, and Specials teachers at all levels in fostering mental, cognitive, academic, language, and physical growth in children. The primary role of the Floater is to provide coverage in the absence of Group and Specials teachers to ensure continuity in learning. In the Group or Specials Teacher’s absence, Floaters are allocated to various classrooms where responsibilities reflect the needs of the Group.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for Group, Specials, and Associate Teachers as needs arise.
- Encourage thinking and exploration.
- Deliver school curriculum provided by the Teacher.
- Accompany Groups on Field Trips during school hours.
- Support integration with other curricular subjects.
- Maintain an equitable and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively and establish strong working partnerships with students, colleagues, administrators, and families.
- Provide behavioral updates to Learning Specialists as needed.
- Implement activities and lessons, and model outstanding professional behavior.

- Support morning and afterschool programming as assigned.
- Attend weekly Staff Meetings.

Buildings and Grounds Support Technician |
Position Overview:
The Buildings and Grounds Support Technician is skilled at HVAC/Electrical and other general
maintenance tasks that support the City and Country School buildings and surrounding property. This
employee reports to the Director of Facilities.
The individual in this role is an integral part of the Buildings and Grounds team and would carry out
assignments necessary to maintain building equipment. The Buildings and Grounds Support Technician
will carry out assignments necessary to maintain building equipment and make general repairs to
building systems and fixtures. Work is subject to inspection while in progress and is checked upon
completion. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate is insightful, visionary, analytical, detail-oriented, and mindful of the importance of
building meaningful relationships with the school’s various community members. This is a bargaining
unit position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on HVAC heating and air systems to ensure optimal
performance
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair light fixtures, plumbing systems, doors, locks, switches,
outlets, floors, walls, and ceilings
- Operate hand and power tools in a safe manner
- Provide support across multiple buildings, such as cleaning, event setup/breakdown, plumbing,
painting, and electrical work
- Estimate and record costs and materials needed for various projects and have such materials
on hand
- Complete assigned maintenance task and additional duties as required
- Preserve a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of the practices and procedures involved in the HVAC/Electrical and building trades, including general building maintenance, lighting, ballast replacement, electrical, plumbing, painting, and plastering
- Considerable knowledge of the tools, materials and supplies used in the trade and in their application
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of the proper use of safety devices and practices
- Be capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and community

Salary
City and Country School offers a competitive compensation package, commensurate with level of
experience, plus benefits. The hourly salary for this position is $33.48.

Advancement Associate |
Position Overview:
City and Country School seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Advancement Associate to support the full range of functions within the Advancement Team, including communications, development, and admissions. This full-time, entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow into a higher-level role while playing a vital part in strengthening the school’s outreach, engagement, and fundraising efforts. The Advancement Associate will
coordinate key projects, support event planning, and ensure smooth collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications & Marketing
- Organize and execute the school’s weekly newsletter.
- Contribute to the development of engaging content and tracking performance analytics for social media channels.
- Monitor and respond to emails from the school’s general inbox.
Development
- Support the Development Office by coordinating C&C Fund and Benefit activities, engaging volunteers, assisting with alumni/ae programming, and conducting donor and foundation research.
- Handle donation and pledge entry, gift reconciliation with the Business Office, and acknowledgment letter generation.
- Generate and manage database queries, exports, and reports in Raiser’s Edge, as well as update constituent data.
Admissions
- Help prepare for and execute all admissions events, including school tours, open houses, and prospective family visits.
- Monitor the admissions@cityandcountry.org email account and manage communications with prospective families, ensuring timely follow-ups and thoughtful touchpoints throughout the admissions process.
- Manage the applicants' journey on Ravenna, ensuring their status is up to date and they are moved along efficiently in the application process.
- Support the Admissions team with their database needs including creating spreadsheets, tracking data, and creating reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; 1–2 years of related experience (admissions, fundraising, communications, or similar)
- Strong computer skills, including:
- Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization)
- Proficiency with databases such as Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge and Ravenna, including generating queries and reports
- Experience tracking, segmenting, and reconciling donor and applicant data across systems
- Familiarity with website content management systems
- Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
- Exposure to event registration platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, SignUpGenius) and project management tools (e.g., Trello, shared calendars)
